Yoga Poses for Heart Health
February is here, the time of the heart, when many of us celebrate love by sending cards, gifting flowers, and enjoying candle lit dinners with our beloved.
According to yogic philosophy, the heart is the seat of the soul and the center for compassion. Through modern medicine we know that the heart is the center of the circulatory system, pumping blood throughout the body, delivering oxygen to the cells, and carrying away metabolic waste.
The heart is an essential organ and a robust heart is a primary health goal. Fortunately, research has shown that yoga can help. Check out these healthy heart yoga poses to stretch, massage and calm your heart.

In April I’ll be teaching a Core Strength for a Healthy Lower Back workshop. Strong core muscles provide stability and support for the pelvis and spine, and help prevent injury and heal from pain. In this workshop you’ll explore your core anatomy, and learn simple yet powerful poses to develop core muscular strength and endurance. All levels welcome. Find out more.
