Yoga Authors
BKS IYENGAR: His seminal work, Light On Yoga, is a must read for all yogis. Written almost 60 years ago, its content is terse yet timeless. It details essential instructions for over 200 poses and 14 breathing exercises. Other essential BKSI reading includes Light on Pranyama and Light on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.
MEL ROBINS: Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher (CIYT). Check out his book, A Handbook for Yogasana Teachers. An in depth resource for all things Iyengar Yoga and anatomy. Strongly recommend!
LOIS STEINBERG: CIYT. Lois is the foremost Iyengar Yoga therapeutics teacher the United States. She has a series of yoga therapy books for sale at her website. You can also view some of her recorded classes on YouTube.
JULIE GUDMESTAD: CIYT and Physical Therapist. Check out her website for many educational anatomy based asana articles written with yoga teachers in mind.
ROGER COLE: CIYT. Check out his Iyengar Yoga anatomy articles at yogajournal.com.
DOUG KELLER: Iyengar and Anusara Yoga influenced teacher. Keller has some informative anatomy based yoga articles on his website and at Yoga International. He has also has a couple of great yoga therapy books, which I highly recommend.
